Look Ma, no hands.
Tesla came out with a new feature for their Model S this month, many people were extremely excited about it. What could it be? It's the first AutoPilot system in the market. Tesla is the first successful all electric automobile company. Now with this new feature, it is a huge step in their company. They had been working on this new feature for the past few years, to make sure that it is flawless and legal. What is more genius about this system is that it is an upgrade you can install to any Tesla Model S, instead of just making it available to the new models. This way Tesla owners can always get the latest updates on their Teslas. This is why buying a Tesla automobile is a great investments. This is also a reason why no matter how many milage an owner drove his Tesla automobile, they can always resell it for close to the price they brought it for.
So how does it work? Easy, Tesla's Model S has 12 long-range ultrasonic sensors that are located around the car. These Sensors can sense up to 16 feet in every direction at all speeds. That way the sensors can pick up if there are any car near by when autopilot is on. Many automobile in the market has car sensors, but not all of them has sensors up to 16 feet and all around the car. Next, Tesla also installed a high-precision digitally-controlled electric assist braking system in every Model S. This digitally-controlled electric assist braking system allows car to break automatically when in need. Once again, Tesla wasn't the only company that has electric assist braking system. However, it was very smart for Tesla to put both system together to create something smarter. Last but not least, Tesla also installed self steering wheel system on Model S when autopilot is on. This system allows cars to self steer within their lanes or changing to another when needed. Other companies did not release this system, Tesla was the first to release it.
There were many news on this new feature Tesla released. One of the biggest news would be the video of a Uber driver who was on duty with his Tesla. Video showed that this Uber driver was driving on a semi busy road, then suddenly a car made a turn right in front of the Uber driver. It could've been an accident, but Tesla's digitally-controlled electric assist braking system stopped the car before it crash into the reckless driver. Tesla should continue creating more useful features. This will help the future of automobile.
